Mahatma Gandhi who is also popularly known as father of the nation was born in the coastal city of Gujarat, Porbandar. He was a man of big vision, big expectations and big heart who fought for the nation’s independence as a social activist. His remarkable and illustrious life cannot be just judged by his lynchpin role in India’s independence but also the role he played in influencing the minds and hearts of several people to stand up for their rights and fight for their country, it will be true to say that he along with other social activists brought a revolutionary change in the country by the means of peace and tranquility.

"Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny." - Mahatma Gandhi
Not just India, Mahatma Gandhi had also contributed in changing the world by traveling across the various countries and lending his hand in settling down the local disputes peacefully, one of the popular dispute was of South African apartheid system in which he played a major role resolving it.
Gandhi ji had a lot of patience and perseverance as he used to be imprisoned many times, but that didn’t stop him from what he managed to do for the country. It was his courage that he transformed satyagraha into a national movement, stressing upon nonviolent disobedience, boycotts and, on occasion, hunger strikes. He was not only respected by locals but also had a influence over britishers. In its true sense he became a National Icon and a ray of hope for millions.
Ultimately In 1947, the hard work finally paid off as he won the battle against britishers. It took a bit of time but he showed that if one is high on principles and rules in life, he is going to be successful one day, it is just about self belief in your ability.
Unfortunately, such a inspirational and visionary leader was assassinated on January 30, 1948 by Nathuram godse, a past member of RSS, the event had ripped the hearts of the people across the country but before his death his gift to the nation was the independence for which he fought with great perseverance.
